If you're used to cooking your own food, then this post might not apply to you. However, showing the initiative to your parents that you’re taking your nutrition serious at an early age could spark a flame of appreciation in their eyes.
From the role of a parent, it takes a lot of effort to convince their kid to TRY to put motivation towards eating healthy (I was one of those kids too lol). Although it may seem annoying, they’re 100% right. We need to put way more effort towards our weekly diet than we realize (especially as an athlete looking to take their talents to the next level).
I know I know, you didn’t come to this post to hear about how your parents were right all along (it’s hard for me to admit too lol). But there’s a benefit to all of this: By not only accepting the responsibility of trying to dial in your diet, but also asking your parents for assistance, could lead to having your own personal food guides in your very own kitchen.
It’s very important to use every tool to your advantage that could potentially help you become a better athlete. And in the cases of several athletes, their families could be that first change in your athletic career that sets you up for future success.
Why not ask and see what assistance they could offer?
Have any questions?
Please put them in the comments below and I’ll be sure to get back to you :).
Thank you for reading,
Kolton Osborn.
