Mindset Section Intro

The first win of your season should be the one in your head.

Apart from the physical side of track (which is a lot of it lol), the most important factor to dial in before a race is your mindset.

Your mindset will determine a lot of your performance outcomes before you even race. That applies for practices, cooldowns, meet days, and even your nutritional planning.

The moment you allow yourself to have a negative mindset towards something, you’ve accidentally created a new obstacle in front of the thing you already don’t want to do: Yourself.

The battle for having a proper mindset is different for everyone. Some may read this and think that it’s not needed because they feel comfortable with their current thought process. Others may read this and think that it’s one of the most important things for them to work on during the season.

Luckily for both perspectives, all posts I make about having a good mindset will be available for everyone to look at for free :).

In this section I will go over the mindset approach you should have in the different aspects of your athletic life and some methods that have helped me during my own.
